Why does St. Augustine Church need this ministry?

St. Augustine offers Vacation Bible School to children ages four to ten to provide a fun way to learn about the love of God.   Bible stories, music, crafts and games help the children become closer to Jesus.

What do team members do?

  • VBS CoordinatorSelect a VBS curriculum, recruit volunteers, order materials and coordinate publicity, registration and decorations

  • Teachers: Share the Bible story each day with the children that they will understand, enjoy and remember

  • Activity Leaders: Lead the children in music, crafts, snacks, games or service activities.Choose an activity that enhances children's understanding of the lesson

  • Helpers: Assist teachers in the classrooms, help the activity leaders,create decorations

Suggested Skills:

  • Ability to work with children with patience

  • Creativity, organizational skills, flexibility

  • Musical skills

Time required:

  • Preparation/planning time varies according to the job

  • VBS week goes from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to noon

  • Prepare and support participation for VBS Sunday, the Sunday after VBS week.
