Walking the Steps of Love

John 13:1 Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

Summary: Holy Week invites us to walk closely with Jesus and witness how deeply God loves the world.

Dear St. Augustine Family,

Next week is the holiest week of our year. I hope you will join us for worship, prayer, and reflection as we walk with Jesus through each step of Holy Week.

Jesus enters this week fully aware of what is coming. He knows his hour has come. And still, he chooses love. Not a distant love, but a love that acts, speaks, confronts, heals, and ultimately gives everything.

Each day of Holy Week reveals something about the heart of God. On Saturday, Jesus is anointed, prepared both for burial and for kingship. On Sunday, he enters Jerusalem as the true king, not with power and force, but with humility. On Monday, he clears the temple, showing us that God is no longer confined to a building. God dwells in hearts made alive by the Spirit. On Tuesday, Jesus challenges the powers that hold people captive. On Wednesday, he gathers with his disciples in quiet presence and teaching.

On Thursday, he gives us the gift of the table. He shares bread and cup and invites us into a life of self-giving love. In the garden, he prays with honesty and courage. By Friday, he is arrested, tried, and crucified. Love is rejected, yet it does not turn away. On Saturday, there is silence. And on Sunday, resurrection breaks open the world.

I am struck that Jesus makes every moment count. Every step is intentional. Every action reveals God’s desire to restore, heal, and draw us close.

This Holy Week, I invite you to slow down and walk with him. Come to the services. Sit in the story. Let each day speak to your life. There is something here for all of us.

May God meet you in every step,

Pastor Anny+

Prayer Loving God, walk with me this Holy Week and open my heart to your love. Help me follow Jesus with courage and trust. Amen.
