John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.
Who Is Jesus? God in Our Midst
Summary: Jesus is more than a teacher or prophet; Christians believe he is God because in him we see God’s love, presence, and power made flesh.
Dear Friends,
One of the deepest questions of faith is: Who is Jesus? Some see him as a wise teacher, others as a healer, still others as a revolutionary. For Christians, however, we confess something even more profound: Jesus is God in our midst.
In him, God’s love, character, and life are fully revealed. Jesus is the clearest picture of God we have ever known. His compassion for the poor, his welcome to the outcast, his courage in the face of injustice, and his willingness to suffer for the sake of others—these are not simply admirable human qualities. They are signs that the very heart of God beats within him.
To say Jesus is God is to affirm that God is not distant, but near. God has walked our dusty roads, shared our hunger and our joy, and borne our deepest pain. In Jesus, God shows us not only how to live, but how deeply we are loved.
What difference does this make for us? The answer is simple, yet life-changing: if Jesus is God, then his story is also our story. His resurrection is our hope. His way of love is not optional advice but the very path of life. To follow him is to join in God’s dream for the world.
In Christ, we discover not only who God is, but also who we are called to become—beloved children, bearers of light, people of grace and truth.
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Anny+
