2 Corinthians 9:7 – “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving from the Heart

Summary: True stewardship is not about the size of our gift but the depth of our love, offered freely and courageously from the heart.

Dear Friends,

When we talk about stewardship, it’s easy to think first about numbers—budgets, pledges, or the practical needs of keeping the church running. But at its heart, stewardship is not about accounting; it’s about relationship. It’s about how we love God, one another, and this world we’ve been entrusted to care for.

Giving from the heart is an act of trust. It says, “I believe in what God is doing here.” It says, “I want to be part of the story of hope being written in this place.” Whether our gifts are large or small, what matters most is the spirit in which they are given. A gift offered with love carries a power beyond measure—it strengthens the bonds of community and becomes part of God’s ongoing work of transformation.

In a world that often measures worth by wealth, the gospel flips the equation. It reminds us that generosity is not about abundance of resources but abundance of spirit. Each of us has something sacred to give—our time, our creativity, our compassion, our faith. When we give from the heart, we create ripples of grace that reach far beyond what we can see.

This stewardship season, may we give joyfully and with open hearts, trusting that every act of generosity, no matter how small, becomes part of the holy work of love that sustains our church and blesses the world.

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Anny+

Prayer for the Week:

Loving God, teach us to give not from fear or obligation, but from joy and gratitude. Let our hearts overflow with generosity that reflects your boundless love. Amen.
