Romans 8:19–21 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God… that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Creation Care as a Witness to God’s Love
Summary: Creation care is a living form of showing God’s love for the world not only through words but through the way we cherish and protect all that God has made.
Beloved in Christ,
In this Season of Creation, I am reminded that creation care is one of the clearest ways we proclaim God’s love to the world. Scripture tells us, “The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it” (Psalm 24:1). To tend the earth is not simply an environmental concern; it is an act of discipleship. When we recycle, reduce waste, plant a tree, or conserve water, we are bearing witness that God’s world is precious, and that love—God’s love—extends to every creature.
This witness speaks louder than we may realize. In a culture anxious about climate change and environmental harm, caring for creation testifies that our faith is not escapist but deeply rooted in God’s world. It shows neighbors, friends, and children that the love of Christ has hands and feet—hands that plant, feet that walk gently, hearts that give thanks for all that God has made.
Creation care is evangelism, not by argument but by example. It is how we embody the Good News: that God so loves this world—all of it—that nothing is outside the reach of grace.
May our love for creation open doors for others to glimpse the Creator’s love.
In Christ’s care,
